Official Response To Whistleblower From Alex Hall

Recommended Posts

I wrote a strop-o-gram to Alexander Hall about their antics in Whistleblower. This is their reply:

Alexander Hall's Response to the BBC Whistleblower Programme

The BBC Whistleblower programme has alleged that Alexander Hall has disclosed personal client information to Foxtons estate agents. These allegations are unsubstantiated and Alexander Hall is considering its position regarding legal action.

Alexander Hall does not disclose any personal client information to Foxtons or any other party, other than mortgage lenders. We will never disclose a client's salary for example, or any other personal data. We do however have to liaise between lenders and estate agents to ensure that a client can afford a mortgage to secure an offer on a property - this is standard practice. In many cases the clients will ask us to disclose certain personal information to the estate agent but we will always get written consent from the client.

The BBC programme included no evidence that Alexander Hall have disclosed personal client information to Foxtons. We have asked the BBC for specific details of any allegations so that we can investigate them but none have been supplied to us.

Alexander Hall is one of the leading independent mortgage brokers in London. All our mortgage brokers are professionally qualified and we have FSA regulations, data protection and money laundering rules to adhere to. The company takes these obligations very seriously and has a strong compliance ethic. Alexander Hall has recently won the Best Regional Adviser award by What Mortgage magazine.
