The new generation. I won't buy what I want because I can't relatively afford it, I buy what I need. No debt, no regret.

the older generation:

i hope that younger generation dont remember how we fleeced them and lived off them and later charge us a lot for elderly care. i hope they volunteer instead while we spend the housing inflation they paid on stairlifts and cruises.

I had an interesting discussion with the "older generation" last weekend with a Baby Boomer Surveyor nearing retirement, obviously the subject of pensions, care of the elderly and housing costs were being discussed.

I said to him, "My generation has been well and truly shafted, I see no reason why I should pay into a pension just so you can draw yours. I have already accepted that I’ll be working until the day i drop dead. Now ask me if I care about your pension"

You should have seen the look on his face
