Thus re igniting massive property increases..... What is the possibility ??? Is this what happened last time ? Or did the lowering of rates and the forseeable economic climate play a big enough part to prevent it this time around ?....... Is there cause for concern among STR or FTBs ? I'd guess the answer is no because the markets are more driven by big business whereas house prices are driven by your average punter. Large businesses are doing well right now but debt, rising costs and unemployment are really starting to hit millions of households. Some have said that if there is a HPC then it could drag down the stockmarket but many UK companies are making money overseas and therefore not that tied up with the UK economy.
