Don't Miss The Boat......

Actually the price of houseboats is crashing through the floor (???). This time for the past 2 years you couldn't find one advertised for under 69K. Now this is about the 3rd I've seen in a row well under that figure. However the Mooring fees make it a worse deal than Shared Equity. When I was 20 it would have been romantic. Now I just view the whole thing as cold and wet.

I dont think they are economical in the long run.

One is that they have thin walls and dont keep the heat in well, and you d be spending a lot of money on heating the darn thing. Additionally you cannot fit roof insulation as there is no space.

It doen'st help when you are surrounded by cold water either.

Actually it seems quite a good deal IMO because its only about 2 years rent and the mooring fee isnt that much more than council tax for a 1 bed. Its council tax is just £12/month. Heating wouldnt be a problem either as its not cold in London (unless you're a southern softie that is :P )

This baby would end up saving you some serious cash.
