Pre-Internet, people would have a limted resource to find new property (estate agents, local papers). Now a 5 minute search on a national / international website will give you millions of property options. Bang goes people sticking to local community buying, the 2nd home generation.

If the government really wanted to help the first time buyer, they would heavily tax the 2nd home generation. Then again why legislate against a vested interest.
