"haliwide Figures Fiddled" Claims

Recommended Posts

It's often stated that the month-on-month Haliwide percentage change figures are "fiddled" in some way to keep them high.

Surely if this were the case, then their absolute figures would go way off beam in a couple of years space of time? Has this happened? If not, are there other fiddles like retrospective changes to the figures that hit the headlines? Or do they take the opportunity of crash time to overstate the fall to "catch up" with reality?

Surely if they are fiddled and you plot the monthly figures against the initial value, then there would be a divergence between their figures and reality? Has anyone done this?
