No-Crash-Yet, does not mean No-Crash-Ever.

Yet some nitwits, think it does

Just look at Dubai these days, and you can see what can happen

Bubb, until you turn bull this crash will not happen, so get with the program!

i know alot of people with IO morgages or just got IO morgages, whats the point of paying it off, you need to spend when your young, keep on remorgaging and releasing equity. Things are cheaper when you dont pay the thing off, its like renting with 'security'. An IO morgage isnt much more than rent, and crazily people seem to think thats a good reason to get an IO morgage....

ie for these two muppits,

6% IO is 'only' 925ukp a mounth.

the repayment is an extra 440 on top

on combined 52k there taking home about 3000ukp a month after tax? so thats less than half there salary.

The next downturn in prices will (must) come with the next recession.. (Obvious really)

If the economy doesnt take a major turn for the worse within the next 3/4 months then there will be no HPC in 2006

I have a friend who together with his wife bought (and immediately rented) three properties in London. This is addition to the two flats that they already own. The problem is that with the stratification of earnings (with fat tails) the pattern of ownership is bound to change as well..

Great link. We should be worried about what is happening across the pond, as unlike us, the US actually do produce stuff. You wonder how long UK can last in a downturn with all these non-productive non-jobs.

BTW, how about this for non-job of the week:

Personalised Travel Planning Assistant

Was advertised in the Guradian the other week. Starting salary in mid-30Ks I seem to remember
