Well actually, since the Government is just about to introduce Executive Government legislation (isn't that what the Nazi's did in 1933?) having your home pics posted on the web is going to be the least of our worries. Of course Tony has said he would never use it for anything but sweeping away tiresome old legislation. I thought that was what parliament was for? And even if he wouldn't (although we have his track record on the truth with Iraq) what about the next and the next and the next prime minister? "the bill is drafted so widely that it gives the Government the draconian power to amend legislation or enact new laws by ministerial order without any proper Parliamentary debate at all." http://www.melaniephillips.com/articles/

The nice thing about this piece of legislation is it can only be used to create crimes where the maximum sentance is less than 2 years.... unless of course a minister uses this legislation on itself to allow him or her to create crimes with sentances greater than 2 years. Does that makes sense?
erd
To all those who own your own home, let it go to pot over the next few years. Then when the inspections are done you will get a low valuation. Then you can improve it and not pay any more! Sell you DIY shop shares now
Last Hun Standing
Why ask people to post their improvements when they could just use their newly ordered eye in the sky? http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/main.jhtml...4/ixportal.html As for the orwelian nightmare that is this piece of "enabling" legislation, its oviously time for the dictatorship of fools to discard its democratic fig leaf. Parliament, how quaint...
Samuel Whiskers
The reason why all of these infringements are going through without much fuss from the public is that we are all having to work so hard to cover the cost of living that few have the energy left over to complain about the slow shuffle towards this disgusting new labour knightmare of control freakery. God save England from these scumbags.

Does that makes sense? Makes perfect sense. I once had a guy from the obsessive compulsive society of Adelaide come round to collect money for his organisation. He came round every two to three days! I've only just worked out what is wrong with this government. Its not that they are pure evil, its just that they are obsessively compulsively pursuing an ideology of "progress" and democracy is standing in the way. They have built themselves a perfect roller coaster but they don't see the need for a break and since parliament is acting as a break, and the lords are doing irritating things like stop and reflect (and tony hasn't managed to fill it up with his non thinking obsessive compulsive cronies yet), they need to find a way to side step it so they can continue to enact their political illness. Look out for the Stasi at your door. Viva la quiet life!
