This is probably the most important issue of all to me.

Forget about the temporary abberation of house price monthly blips. Why should business continue to invest? I'm surprised the lack of confidence hasn't fed through faster to the housing market. All I can think is that the feckless public sector is less concerned about the future.

So my question is: Who would invest their life savings into a business in the UK at the moment?
