OFT proposes supermarkets probe

Supermarkets are likely to face a full inquiry by the Competition Commission into their dominance of Britain's grocery market.

The inquiry will be triggered by the Office of Fair Trading (OFT) after a further one month's consultation.

The OFT had been ordered to review a decision last year when it decided not to trigger an inquiry.

The Association of Convenience Stores had said that supermarkets were driving local stores out of business.

I hope Grocery prices do increase.

I am fed up with seeing farmers pushed to the bottom on costs, and having to employ cheap overseas immigrant labour just so a few selfish people can get their Brussel Sprouts at 10% less than real cost.
