Consumer service firms feel pinch

Consumers are cutting back on special treats such as cinema trips
Consumer service firms including cinemas and betting shops have suffered a slump in optimism as people continue to rein-in their spending.
More firms expect the situation to grow worse over the next three months, according to a survey by business group the CBI and auditor Grant Thornton.
Rising electricity and gas prices together with higher petrol costs have hit household budgets, they said.
This has led to consumers cutting back on luxuries.
A negative balance of 30% of these firms expect business to get worse in the next quarter before its gets better.

As confidence sinks it seems paradoxical that house prices can rise? Or is it just "asking prices" that are rising as real prices are falling? Spin is confusing the sheeple.
