HouseValues Weighed Down By Slowing Market

Maya Roney, 03.01.06, 12:04 PM ET

Piper Jaffray research analyst Safa Rashtchy downgraded online real-estate firm HouseValues to "market perform" from "outperform," citing a slowing real-estate market and increased investment spending.
"We see little catalyst for shares during 2006," wrote the analyst in a note to investors Wednesday. He cut
the price target on the stock to $13 from $23
.

Could the drop in target price from $23 to $13 represent the anticipated percentage drop in home values? Despite the VI hype in the US the investors are far far more cautious.
