Melanie Griffith and Matthew Modine buy the San Francisco home of their dreams but need to rent out a flat to meet the repayments. They let to smart yuppie Michael Keaton who looks every young couple's ideal tenant. Who rapidly turns into the tenant from hell, hammering, sawing, sharing with a weird roomie, breeding and releasing roaches and yet staying one legal step ahead all the time in John Schlesinger's housing horror/thriller.

I would like to say at this point that I in no way condone the behaviour of Michael Keaton's character in "Pacific Heights" and to any tenant reading this who is thinking of sueing their landlord it is worth bearing in mind that he probably earns less than you.
