Who really needs a 5 bed detached unles you are the Waltons, in this day and age in my experience the only people buying this sort of property in my humble opinion are the 'really' professional couple who earn hundreds of thousands! Just look at Ascot and I guarentee you most of the million pound plus houses are being bought/built for couples with no children............a status symbol of what 'I've' achieved!! He said: "This is an extraordinarily weak report. We had concurred with the market consensus that sales would probably edge down from buoyant levels at Christmas by around 0.2 per cent but today's news came as a shock. "Food store sales declined by 0.5 per cent and those in non-food stores by 1.9 per cent. Household goods stores suffered a huge three per cent drop." The news will worry Gordon Brown, whose management of the economy is under growing attack. Official figures this week showed that unemployment rose by 8.7 per cent in the past year, the biggest jump for 13 years. The number of bankruptcies rose last year to a record level, while industrial performance has fallen to the lowest level in a decade. Economists laid most of the blame for the high street depression on the mountain of debt taken on by households. It emerged this week that for the first time the £1,158 billion owed by families is greater than the country's annual economic output. since the beginning Posted February 17, 2006 Share Posted February 17, 2006 Things that help to make me content / happy. Travel and seeing new places. Working less. Seeing more of partner. (and children if I had any) Living in a nice environment. Going out. Most of these cost money. England can be a pretty depressing place if you can't afford to get out and see it or socialise with friends. I've never understood the importance of plasma TVs. You can buy a decent quality large TV for less than 1/2 the price of the cheapest brand plasma of the same size. Picture quality is often worse on cheaper plasmas. What do I get for all that money?? A TV that is about a foot less deep.... woo hoo I'll just get my coat and run down to dixons to snap one up. My scenario is: If unemployment keeps going up at the rate it is it could well reach 2million by the end of this year - once that happens the newspaper ed's will hang him out to dry and start asking questions about whether he should of been doing his job instead of pretending to be the PM and where is his economic miracle now. They combine the best of CRT for quality and LCD for efficiency. Use less than 1/3rd of the power of Plasma. http://pcworld.about.com/news/May312005id1...tm?terms=bet+tv SED TVs can produce pictures as bright as those of CRT TVs and without the slight time delay sometimes associated with LCD TVs, according to proponents of SED. The technology uses as little as two-thirds the power that plasma panels use, according to Toshiba and Canon, which have been developing the technology since the 1990s. Hey ...I'm a woman and my TV cost me £90 from ASDA My sister split up from her partner about 12 months ago. Relationship finally came to a head because of ...guess what???? A Plasma TV. Now obvioulsy this wasn't the only problem in their relationship but HE insisted on a plasma TV. SHE didn't want one. Every time I went to her house she used to point to it and say "Have you seen the size of it, it just takes up too much space. All he ever wanted was a Plasma TV blah blah blah" The crunch came when he wanted brackets to put it on the wall. I seem to remember something along the lines of ..."F*ck off and take your plasma TV with you" Not all girlies are subject to peer pressure. By then credit might be a lot tighter Why spend a fortune on a LCD/Plasma when a crt almost the same size can be had for a fraction of the price, and often far better picture quality on SD broadcasts.
