They are saying it is imperative that you wear one indoors, and if you don't you are likely to kill someone. Similarly, they are not saying the vaccines are a great tool, but they had emergency approval, and could potentially therefore have some problems. They are instead saying every one should get vaccinated, if you don't you are a danger to society, if you question anything about the vaccines (such as blood clots earlier in the pandemic), you are an anti-science idiot! +1 I would say it's worse than that. In both cases there is 'nudging' involved which has crossed the line into blackmail.

Now do the same with the mask, moving your hand around. The molecules in the air aren't spreading as far, even if they're getting out (which of course they have to otherwise it would inflate and not go down again). I'm afraid "masks do nothing" is as much of a nonsense as "people who don't wear masks everywhere are killing everyone." It's another situation where people seem to retreat to two over-simple stupid extremes but where reality isn't exactly half way between either. +1 On 25/06/2021 at 16:28, scottbeard said: Isn't it just! Were people always like this, or is it a recent phenomenon? Either way it certainly seems like people can't accept things like masks and vaccines can be helpful without being perfect, or be good for some people/situations and not others. Surgeons and Dentists have always worn masks whilst working, precisely because they DO work, and those people are breathing right on top of patients' open wounds for up to an hour at a time. Conversely, GPs did not wear masks in their consulting rooms, nor would Dentists wear masks when going out for a walk in the park. Now all of a sudden masks need to be 100% perfect or 0% useful, nothing in between. +1 I do wonder though how much the chances of someone like Boris who has had Covid and been double jabbed getting Covid and passing it on is and does he really need to wear a mask?
