Fee Earning Conveyancer Redundancy

Recommended Posts

A close relation of mine works in a solicitors in the residential conveyancing section. Have been very quiet since last quarter of 2005. Staff were called into meeting on friday to be told that a fee-earner (handling residential conveyancing) was to be made redundant. Relation has worked there several years and is not surprised this is happening.

Also told me that local estate agents which normally give them up to 10 new clients a week have only been heard from 2-3 times since beginning of December. Also the case with other well known national agencies.

Signs of things to come?...

just wanted to add to my original message (but new to this so could not work out how to edit it!). I too eagerly await HPC (hence the username!) - should I take this as a good sign, bearing in mind these are people at the coal face?

Are other people aware of similar things elsewhere - I am Kent based
