Good to see the yokels re-engaged in their traditional bar sports at spoons

Scunthorpe - the only place in England with a particularly rude word in it.

Does anyone on here frequent 'spoons? Couldn't think of a worse way to spend an afternoon surrounded by a bunch of ruddy faced Brexshiteers.

I do, I have the options of spoons or hipsters pubs,  and spoons is less uninviting and I do not get dirty looks, probably in spoons I am royalty in a hipster pub I am a balding old git

Scunny has a claim to fame.. Ted Lewis wrote a book calls "Jacks return Home". where the said Jack returns back to his hometown of Scunny. A year later the book was turned into a film.. Get Carter!

When Scunthorpe is so bad it has to be played by another town...

The UK's got an ingrained problem with infantile minded thugs who think the adult sphere is the extension of the playground (but on steroids) and they can punch their way out of anything (or punch down people who just look funny). Of course the police and courte cannot handle this long term.

I was violently hospitalised by a young thug who vaguely recognised me (a mental age of 11, mixed with testosterone, cluster B personality disorder, and booze does not mix).

Northern England's the worst place for this sort of thing and rough kids there really hate Goths, and endlessly hound them (I have an acquaintance from Yorkshire who was perpetually victimised by sink estate thugs and one even made attempt on his life by driving a car right at him).

The two are not mutually exclusive. In fact I think royalty and balding old hits may well be linked...   it’s in the genes 🧬

I see what you said, I will not answer or it will be off with my head

What really comes across from the comment you replied to is the hatred of the working class from the new 'socialists' 😆  Why aren't you voting Labour you stupid racist, sexist transphobes!?  The SJWs never learn. 😄

I never claimed they weren't, but buying expensive wallpaper isn't in the same league as pre-judging a large group of people, something the left supposedly hate (when it suits). I thought you were policing the Cummings thread anyway, or is it just my comments?

You post infantile and dishonest generalisations then wet the bed when they get called out?

You can play them games, Tory boi. But not in this park.

There we go,  I must have a red face too, and voted Brexit (and be thick).

Well 'spoons must be like a honeypot to alcoholics with their cheap warm liquid refreshments, and one of the earliest signs of alcohol abuse is a persistently red face due to the enlarged blood vessels. It's a medical condition called telangiectasia.

ah, right, just mine that are infantile/dishonest (which ones are you meaning?). I generalize about lefties on the internet, with good reason, based on experience, but then I don't lecture people on morality or claim any moral high ground. I think everyone's a hypocrite in one way or another including me. p.s. I only ever voted Tory once, at the last GE, least worst option for me in the circumstances.

Yep, and nothing to do with their opinions. I wonder if there are any alcoholic lefties with the same condition who are seen as "Brexshitters" and sneered at by our moral elite?
