A struggling Midland family with just £12 in the bank said they wished they could cancel Christmas.

Sandwell couple Caroline Rose and Neil Tugby were both made redundant during the first lockdown and fear losing their home.

To add to their stress, their daughter Heidi, who was born prematurely, needs an operation.

Caroline said money was so tight she was considering selling her engagement ring, while Neil's hair and beard were falling out through worry.

Although Neil, 28, managed to find temporary work, he was let go after a few weeks as the family were forced to shield to protect Heidi.

Caroline, also 28, has a part-job but but said it wasn't enough.
