They've got a few billion sqft of office space to convert. Also makes a compelling case for pension funds. A good and steady income stream is perfect. I'd sooner it was institutionalised than a free for all mom and pop shop

Go upto Wembley or Elephant and castle this is already big buisness. More premium flat rentals with gyms etc. Decent margin for the provider.

However.. Not quite the same game renting to DSS in Coventry say. Not sure where the corporate comes in there... Having said that with this goverment prob award the contract to sergo on 2,000pcm for a flat, any flat, anywhere.

Not sure if this is the main 'build to rent' thread...

I think an important topic...

Lord Haughey plans to build 11,000 affordable homes

Business tycoon Lord Willie Haughey plans to spend more than £1bn on building 11,000 homes affordable homes in Scotland over the next nine years.

His Glasgow-based company, City Facilities Management Holdings, has formed a partnership with property group Ediston.

He said the plan would reduce rental costs and make renting preferable to taking out a mortgage.

'These houses won't be for sale'
