Sorry, I don't recall the article.  I do remember the CEO being asked to justify his enormous bonus. 😲

Droitwich new-build couple warn 'Don't buy home here'

_106638282_sign.jpg

A couple who spent nearly £300,000 on a new-build house have hung a banner outside warning off potential buyers.

Neil and Faye Williams bought a house on a new Persimmon Homes estate in Droitwich, Worcestershire, and said it is "bodge after bodge after bodge".

They claim to have found 30 faults and problems in "every single room"

Snags are the least of your worries with Persimmon.

Crap foundation, shit materials and half arsed rushed trades.

The shit materials one is the most worrying. Persimmon and some other housebuilders have taken to using concrete rather than clay bricks. Concrete requires reinforcing for strength with steel when used in construction. There are already reports of such bricks crumbling.

This one's my favourite Persimmon story.

My favourite Persimmon story is that Adam Applegarth (CEO of failed bank Northern Rock) was also (consecutively) a non-executive director on the board of Persimmon - and had taken responsibility for justifying executive remuneration.
