The chancellor Sunak is a real idiot ... he talks in platitudes and peddles nonsense.

Heard him on the radio before and he said (paraphrasing) "'Lots of people will lose their jobs but they should know the government wont give up on hope and opportunity for those affected"

WTF does that even mean??

He sounds like Gordon Brown ... exactly the same rubbish!

Intellectually, Brown runs rings round this lot.

He'll be our last prole PM, but at least the mistakes he made were as a result of unprecedented credit bubble every nation on earth slipped into.

This lot have made those same mistakes over and over and over again now. That's either the definition of madness or stupidity, depending how you look at it.

Had Brown been PM this last decade I'd happily bet my entire fortune the UK would be better off than it currently is now.

Brown was a complete disaster as Chancellor and PM ... Sunak is very similar,: boastful and talks nonsense

I make or 3 or 4 times the housing figure preceeds the GDP figure.  Once, maybe twice the housing goes first and one of those was the banking collapse.

That's fair. My issue with the current situation is that house prices have become one of the tools to provide economic stimulus, and I'm not convinced the current administration have the imagination to look beyond using the housing market to cash cheques written by the future.

Boris and Cummings 'own' this fook up and I couldn't be more happy about that.

You have to hand it to them, they don't do things by halves- presiding over one of the world's worst economic outcomes from the virus while also somehow maximising its wider impact upon the population ?

You do understand that calling anyone who disagrees with you a troll is:

  • Troll like behaviour
  • Not conducive to debate
  • A bit tired after all these years

If that graph is showing causation instead of correlation what are you thoughts on the massive 8% improvement in GDP for July?

"Must be quarter-past never again on the Grand TCON clock. "

You act like a **** and you want respect and debate ?

Troll on.

Economic stimulus by locking money up in a pyramid scam ?

I thought that was a way of making the establishment richer.

Many have missed what is going on, the government are printing money directly into the economy now in the hope of achieving inflation.

That takes time to come through, until them we are seeing an almighty collapse.

You genuinely think any of this lot have been more economically competent than Brown?

(I'm not saying Brown was any good btw. But 600M on the National Debt in 13 years looks a hell of a lot smarter than 2 billion extra debt in 13 years, whilst simultaneously plunging millions more into poverty, and doing bugger all to restructure the UK economy so it's more resilient come the next crisis. Instead we got Osborne aping EU austerity and publicly stating he wanted a housing boom. Which he got. And now...)

The Opposition are not responsible for government policy. This is entirely the UK gov, and BoJo the clown who makes all decisions.

This is what happens when we elect an idiot who surrounds himself with other feeble minded idiots.

Every MP should be responsible for their own voting record.  Parliament should be responsible for the legislature it passes.

If the Opposition opposed, then - perhaps - one could argue them blameless for the adopted policies... but if they fail to vote against the policies, then they are responsible for them.

Don't taint Socialism with the sh*t show that is going on here.  Socialism has flaws, but they aren't the ones screwing us over now.

Yes UpFront Socialists would have made it EVEN worse, if that were possible.

Put a socialist govt in charge of an ocean and it soon will be a desert.

Oh dear. Is that really what you think? You think the UK isn’t a capitalist economy?

My God that people believe we have capitalism. Brainwashed.

Cronyism/Corporatism is NOT Capitalism.  It is Socialism.

Like the Aral sea. People complain about capitalism's impact on the environment, but control economies are historically far worse in that respect.

Lets not rehash that again .I dont have time..

Brown was a disaster and everyone knows it (and importantly history will record it as well)

Your constant support for him while claiming to be a Tory is  ridiculous  and Trollish

@TheCountOfNowhere Here's your real troll not the other guy!

Politics isn't a football match you ridiculous little man.

I don't support a team. Because this isn't about winning and losing. This is about watching my country get sunk by the most incompetent series of Conservative governments I have ever lived through.

It's not Capitalism, but it's not Socialism either.

There's bugger all point having language and terminology, if every pig thick prole is incapable of making distinctions without feeling the need to piss the few political terms they learned from some racist EDL types with a Russian state-funded website and an O-Level between them.

So dodged the question and resorted to an insult.

I wasn't expecting it from you of course (I doubt anyone on here does) but thought I'd do you a favour by flagging it. I guess to get your respect (not that it's worth anything) one must just say you're right, house prices will crash and everyone who bought a house ever is an idiot.

Is it lonely being you???? Never mind, back to your little echo chamber little man.

Trollalalala

Nice graph TCON, interesting that the GDP movement seems to be happening independent of house prices, I wonder if one would cause the other? If so, what do you make of this, does it look like a V shape?GDP.JPG.ee5bddd98309320c1035ba86b38cd003.JPG

it's infuriating because none of them know anything about economics

We're being ruled by idiots

At least Lamont/Clarke etc. knew something and had the personality to assert themselves and the conviction to set policy.

We're really screwed with this lot.  They don't have a clue

They know A LOT about economics.   They do not work for us.

What do you expect? The Tory's are spin led - Cummings is the new Campbell - Sunak got the job because he rolls over for Cummings

Campbell was the new Ingham

Perhaps spin led politics has a blue, and not NuLabour, tinge?

Sunak has ended Boom and Bust...
