House Price Crash Forum

Did I hear some fair minded people suggest that property wealth should be taxed to pay for the Covid19 crisis...?  UKGovs response is to give vouchers to homeowners.

£2billion worth...tax payers money mostly taken from younger renters to be given to older wealthier homeowners.

As for renters...we know they are scum and don't count.

Ever wonder what the UKGov will do next...?  Just ask yourself what measures will benefit owners of land and property...

I haven't checked the forums but I expect some landlords will use this to insulate between tenants so they can let a better property for slightly higher rent, or more easily.

My wife & I will use it to subsidise work we'll be doing anyway so agree its poorly targeted.

Looking forward to all the rogue traders setting up cavity insulation companies to cash in and trash a load of houses I might otherwise of wanted to buy in the future.

Divided over all the owner occupier homes in the country comes to about £100 each in average. Much less than, say, housing benefit for renters which is 20 odd billion per year.

Right we know the housing benefits go and stay in the pocket of the claimant.

Still gives them a roof over their head.

And the insulation grant doesn't stay in the pocket of the home owner either.

It just stays in their property wealth?

No they overpay for insulation. Most of it goes to the tradesman.

Luckily we have a trusted builder so will carve up this free money between us.

Looks like it might cover double glazing as well.  Might have 'courtesy of Rishy' discreetly engraved in the corner of a pane ?

Another ridiculous knee jerk scheme.  Expect a procession. Got to be seen to do something / be in control.

I hope Tories win in 2025 and Rishi Sunak becomes Prime Minister in future.

This government is coming up with good policy decisions.

If Labour had been in power during this time, I can imagine the horror with commies messing up economy.

I will vote Tory now onwards.

Buy everyone a jumper, much cheaper.

Jimmy Carter tried that, gave the Republicans 20 years in power.

Easier to shake the magic money tree and spend it on your mates

Tax n Spend Labour - Bad - Begin soundbites on 'must balance books...where does the money come from...fantasy spending'

Spend n Tax Tory - Good - Begin soundbite on 'sensible policies for times..supporting sectors...there is no alternative'

With a Commie like Starmer as PM, taxes will hit roof under Labour. This is not New Labour. This is Communist Party Of Britain.

New Labour has no chance of revival with Starmer.

So better alternative is Tory with Boris and Rishi combo protecting jobs, homes and economy.

Thank you Boris and Rishi.

Johnson looks the least bad, as he did at the time of the election, which is a pretty depressing state of affairs. But the choice is really between how fast do you want to accelerate downhill.

I'm not a Tory fan. I voted Labour and SNP in the past. Never voted Tory.

I will vote only for this Tory government, not EVERY Tory leader hereafter.

This particular government is coming up with good policies.

If you're still renting, it may help you as well if you buy.

lol. Starmer is a clone of Corbyn with a shave.

Communists shouldn't get their hands on power.

Either New Labour Or Tory Or SNP.

Communist Labour can fook themselves.

What's that got to do with your incessant house price ramping?
