The current Tory government has bankrupted the country, yet they probably won the election with the statement that "Corbyn Will Bankrupt The Economy".......................

Hilarious and this is payback for all those 'northern working class' people who voted for these right wing scum last year.

Karma and Irony is in over supply in May 2020...............

You should have allowed Brexit to complete much earlier rather than draw it out over many long unnecessary years.

Any bad things that have happened since then or will happen after this moment will be laid directly at your feet (your's personally that is). All because you didn't get your way you silly, silly boy. You should have gone to bed when you were told, but no, you thought you weren't tired. Now look what you have done, bankrupted this lovely country.

Ironically, the karma is yours to try to duck and avoid, and the irony is just standing there smiling and pointing at you.

Sorry, but as far as I am concerned the rot in the UK started with Blair and Brown, if I am annoyed with the Tories it's because they never reversed their s*** policies

Yes I agree, but the Tories have now had 10 years to change things for the better....................and look at the state of the country in 2020...................laughable.

They all need sent to the tower imo.

Are you able to talk us through what Corbyn's response to Coronavirus would have been, and how it would have left the country in a more stable economic position?

Party doesn't matter. They're all big spending LOSERS.

Boris will probably be out sooner or later and then comes the next clown.

I'm afraid the country will have to be on its knees before someone with integrity emerges to take over and put things right.

Corbyn would have introduced a universal citizens income imo.  Forget this furlough bullsh1t and just pay people directly.

At the same time, getting rid of the current useless benefits system.

A sensible approach, unlike the current Tory cabinet, who all look like they graduated from the school for retards.

All Corbyn had to do to respond far better than Johnson was panic and lockdown a week or two earlier, I think he could have pulled that off.

That would be a huge improvement to the benefits system, for sure.

I don't think it could have been implemented in time for this crisis if he'd only been elected in December 2019.

7 million on furlough..

1 million on UC (possibly more?)

2 million on JSA

Dear lord.  This is ridiculous.

Suggests perhaps we don’t need to import any more cheap unskilled labour though - can’t we retrain some of these people to pick fruit, wash cars, serve coffee and work in care homes with a little bit of training?

Perhaps some EU nationals might even return home to a place with cheaper housing where there might well now be more jobs too.

Only problem with UBI is that it wouldn’t be enough to cover most private renters housing costs or most mortgages  in large parts of England.

Do you keep Housing benefit and mortgage support too - and let rents fall to match the market and the tenants large scale reduced income.

Wait. Once Labour gets in, these numbers will double. Govt should reduce the benefits amount  paid per person otherwise it gets messy.

But with those numbers on dole, how did this happen ?

A government website advertising seasonal fruit picking jobs for British workers was "unavailable", just moments after the environment secretary urged people to visit it.

The website "Pick for Britain" - which George Eustice said contained fruit picking job adverts, showed the message "the service is unavailable".

Comrade Corbyn would have hanged every tax payer until they die. If Labour losing air's seat didn't convince Corbyn that he is useless, Tories will have their honeymoon for another 10 years.

Wouldn't be surprised if English swallow their pride and vote SNP in England if SNP contests GE in England also. We've run out of options. Tory, Labour, New Labour, Heir To Blair.

I would go back further, this mess started with Thatcher.  Tories like tax and they like to put taxes up especially if it hurts poorer people. One of the first things the Thatcher Government did was to raise VAT which affected the lower paid more harshly.  Tories really are scum as the OP suggests and managing to get swathes of support from depressed parts of the North was genius and shows how stupid most of us are..
