Bargain Half Term luxury trips courtesy of COVID-19

Recommended Posts

We were looking to take a short break for half term (3 nights) for 2 adults and 2 kids. Normally we book these at fairly short notice.

Anyway,  thanks to the Corona Virus and the cancellation of Mobile World Congress, prices in Barcelona are on the floor for the tailend of this week.

We have just booked a 3 bedroom Penthouse Suite (via BA) in one of the best hotels for a total of £1400 including flights. The room alone is normally £2500+ a night.

I am guessing the room may have had a large non returnable deposit prepaid on it for a company executive who isn't now going to the conference. Probably the hotel is now  keen to take any additional cash they can get.

If you are thinking of a break, it may be worth a look.

Dont forget the storms around here (tourism area) cancellations in Hotels etc due to the travel warnings... but end of week looking good.

Got to love Norfolk and this air trees and space during pandemics.  Much less stressful than an overcrowded hellhole.

Pretty well served during the apocalypse around here due to the agriculture, cold war bunkers and ability to seal off the a11 to keep the hoards of marauding starving zombie Londoners out.

Unless we get global warming or a tsunami.... we are pretty ******ed then.
