A message on the surgery's Facebook site this morning (Monday) said: "Due to a potential corona virus incident, we have had to close the Washington House site until the premises is cleaned and cleared as a precautionary measure. We will update as soon as we can."

Is that going to happen for every hospital or surgery that gets a coronavirus case?  Are all the GPs, nurses, patients and receptionists going to be quarantined? It’s hardly a realistic approach!

A school in Southampton has been closed after students were put in isolation over coronavirus fears.

St Mary’s Independent School in Bitterne Park is on lockdown, and pupils have been evacuated, according to the Bournemouth Echo.

Some of the children at the school were reportedly struck down with symptoms similar to those of the virus, and put in isolation after being assessed by medical professionals at Southampton General Hospital.

St Mary’s, which is in contact with Public Health England, will remain closed for deep cleaning.

Ahem...seeing as we all may now be led away to quarantine (handcuffed if deemed necessary) just for getting ill, is now a time to mention "Human Rights"??

https://www.samaritanmag.com/we-have-30-basic-human-rights-do-you-know-them

We have 30 basic human rights, according to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, created by the United Nations in 1948 to provide a global understanding of how to treat individuals.

Specifically in this case:

1. We are all free and equal. We are all born free. We all have our own thoughts and ideas. We should all be treated in the same way.

7. We are all protected by the law. The law is the same for everyone. It must treat us all fairly.

8. Fair treatment by fair courts. We can all ask for the law to help us when we are not treated fairly.

9. No unfair detainment. Nobody has the right to put us in prison without a good reason and keep us there, or to send us away from our country.

13. Freedom to move. We all have the right to go where we want in our own country and to travel as we wish.

20. Meet where you like. We all have the right to meet our friends and to work together in peace to defend our rights. Nobody can make us join a group if we don’t want to.

30. Nobody can take away these rights and freedoms from us.

Or is it the case that we just have privileges as postulated by George Carlin approx 20 years ago?

It just beggars belief that these children were allowed back in school so soon:

A statement sent to parents from headteacher Claire Charlemagne says: "I am sorry to inform you that a family with children at the prep and senior departments who have recently travelled to the region affected by coronavirus have developed symptoms similar to those presenting with the coronavirus,

From that Bournemouth Echo link.

It's been clear for several years now we only have rights when it suits their purpose !

Having said that, an authoritarian police state like China will definitely contain the virus better than the UK.  What makes me laugh is they say the NHS is well prepared to cope.  It can't even cope with current demand !

A whole generation judged and sentenced. Are you for real?

What about your parents? Or grandparents? Or judging by your infantile post, great grandparents?

SJW types typically have very little empathy for anyone else.

They hate the old because they blame them for not having a house /well paid job etc and they don't care for children as they are too selfish to make the sacrifices needed to care for them.

So anything that is likely to kill off a bunch of 'the other' whilst seemingly not being too threatening to themselves, is OK by them.

People in general have very little empathy for anyone else. They can usually manage it when it comes to immediate physical suffering but opinions, values, concepts, goals, desires that they don't share, none at all.

Maybe it's just as well because empathy can lead to contempt as well as sympathy (at the extreme if you can get your head into the headspace of someone truly vile you'll probably end up even more disgusted with them, understanding how they must think and feel to act the way they do).

Except when there is a national emergency. Then all your 'rights' can be removed.

And given that the rest of the population will look upon you as akin to a mass murder, don't expect any sympathy.

When was that?

Before the 1st world war. Gun laws were first introduced after the end of ww1 because the elite worried about the hundreds of thousands of demoralised working class men coming home with a rifle and ammunition, which was often reported lost and not handed back in.

Having seen what had was happening to Royalty / upper class is Russia due to the armed poor, they needed laws to get people to give up their guns.

I believe they where strengthened after the end of WW2 for the same reasons. Dad at home no job, no money, no work, angry at the government with a bren gun in the cupboard and 300 rounds of .303 ammo.!

Except when you have a dangerous infectious disease that could kill many people.

There aren't many people stronger on human rights than me but even I agree with mandatory quarantining in cases like this. Forced treatment, though, is a different kettle of fish.

That said, Matt Hancock is aptly named.

Bonkers!

Pupils who potentially come to contact with infected person/people were sent home and further spread of the disease?

Brighton GP practice closes after staff member tests positive

A GP practice in Brighton has been temporarily closed after a staff member tested positive for coronavirus.

Patients at the city's County Oak medical centre have been advised to contact the NHS 111 phone service if they have concerns.

Two of the eight people diagnosed in the UK are healthcare workers.

BBC

How many other people could be potentially infected? Hope not many.

Guns are essentially just tools, the real potential problem for the UK elites was hundreds of thousands of men and women coming back to civil life with PTSD, comaradrey, tactical and strategic experience, and experience of killing and destroying...

Indian independence and Partition (with the potential slaughter of British colonisers and actual slaughter of Indian minoririties) was large part because India's soldiery had a mutiny.

USA gun owners are mainly just thuggish crooks and delusional tryhards, not in any state to overthrow the US Military and Government in a straight forward manner.

If you would be in quarantine or infected you get everything you wish for free.

Quarantined patients are 'holding staff to ransom' by threatening to walk out

Quarantined patients evacuated from coronavirus-ravaged Wuhan have been holding staff to ransom by threatening to leave unless they are plied with food and alcohol, it is claimed. They have been demanding more alcohol and food if they are kept locked up.

'One patient got drunk and threatened to leave so the police told him that if he left he'd have to pay for his flight and all the food and everything else he'd had, so he soon shut up.'

A security guard at the site said this morning before the new powers were announced: 'The patients know they can just threaten to leave and get whatever they want.

Got that too, 10kg bag of USA short grain rice, plenty of chicken and vegetable stock, pasta, porridge oats, basmati rice. I am a fully qualified chef from college in the 80's, No problems making tasty basic food.  KG's of salt, sugar, bread flour and yeast. Jams, peanut butter. etc etc.

Basically have enough carb staples for at least a month now without leaving the house now.  so when the rush comes for these, I will be picking up the fresh fruit and veg people will ignore because it wont last.

Those boats are deeply unsanitary at the best of times. Dead and dying boomers get carted off under a sheet at every stop. Corona-on-me-chest is just a more efficient way of culling the numbers.

This report is pretty interesting, From Imperial College UK:

https://www.imperial.ac.uk/mrc-global-infectious-disease-analysis/news--wuhan-coronavirus/

Quote

We present case fatality ratio (CFR) estimates for three strata of 2019-nCoV infections. For cases detected in Hubei, we estimate the CFR to be 18% (95% credible interval: 11%-81%). For cases detected in travellers outside mainland China, we obtain central estimates of the CFR in the range 1.2-5.6% depending on the statistical methods, with substantial uncertainty around these central values.

18% Case Fatality in Hubei but only 1.2-5.6% for those being infected outside China????

Something VERY fishy going on here.
