Narcissism and religion

Recommended Posts

Certain high profile politicians, very Christian, also enjoy bombing people.

Some relatives in high power jobs, had some life crisis or other leading up depression (job crisis or family crisis) - instead of stepping back and evaluating priorities that led to this, nope, they embraced God and - poof - they're better than everyone else again.

Good grief.

Why would you think a person that believes in God is a better person than a person that does not......that is a huge responsibility you are putting onto the shoulders of God believers......perhaps when things go wrong they were looking for answers, they are not and will not be better than the next person, it is only that they have faith in something the other person does not.....people with no faith can and are often nicer people than those with faith......;)

Religion gives reassurance that those people with a lifestyle you either disapprove of or who are generally having a better time than you, will pay for it in the end

it is a bit like dismissing someone you disapprove of and who likes a drink as “an alcoholic.”

Is that what you think?......there are as many different religions people, as non religious people....everyone has been given free will and choices......who are we to judge?😉

RW Christians in USA dominate the news cycle and political system. When asking 'who are we to judge' in relation to dismissing religion, I think it's fair to rebut - Who are they to judge?

They judge others all day long: Migrants are evil, Mexicans are rapists, Black people are violent, LGBTQ is unnatural etc.

The finest hypocrites and people definitely not living by the creed of Jesus, more the creed of greed.

Aside from that the issue I have with organised religion is that manipulates great numbers of people. The only way major religions can grow is to convert new followers or birth new followers - hence Genesis 9:7 As for you, be fruitful and increase in number; multiply on the earth and increase upon it."

Which is all very well when priests need money and power, but not great when we're increasing world population by 80 million a year.

You could argue organised religion is a pyramid scheme.

So much diversity within just one of the many religions.....faith is not a 'religion' faith is having a faith.....a very personal thing......hypocrisy is everywhere.....people need people.;)
