Save me from the madness!
I browse BBC news a bit, and over the last 6 months I've noticed what I consider a disproportionate amount of articles on South Korean pop music. It's almost as if one of their article writers is a massive fan and is spamming their favourite hobby out to the nation. Have the BBC got rid of editors to pull journalists up on things like this? Today's - https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/stories-48021860 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-45800924 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-47194222 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-46147777 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-47315704 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/entertainment-arts-45829088/meet-bts-backstage-at-their-first-uk-show https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-47851888 https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-us-canada-45897783/can-a-girl-from-the-bronx-become-the-next-k-pop-star Is this a sign that I am getting old that I'm utterly baffled, I'm not aware of their music getting much / any airplay on BBC radio
PeanutButter
K-Pop fans have massive organised strategies for creating buzz around their idols. They coordinate via social media and forums to deluge charts, radio playlists, youtube etc. BBC will have noticed an uptick on site hits for K-pop related articles and worked out that some lite spamming will do wonders for click-thru rates. It hits that precious under-25 demo which most of their other Farage-licking guff doesn't do (and is actively a turn off for anyone not wearing tweed longjohns).
