Price of renting your flat out to the wrong person

Recommended Posts

so who pay's for the damage ? Mother of 16 year old ? She's the one ultimately responsible she made a booking she should be held to account...

btw i don;t have any sympathy for those who rent out properties in residential via booking sites....its just greed and stuff the neighbours...its not a hotel....by allowing this property to be available they are constantly exposing the neighbours to new and possibly dangerous people...its a numbers game and their number just came up !

Not to mention the lease. Generally short term rentals aren't allowed. Unlikely to be enforced by the free holder but episodes like these put it in the spotlight.

Liability will be a minefield. I wouldn't point the finger at the mother necessarily. Plus we don't know her means to pay. The owner better hope they read the small print on the insurance  particularly as it looks like it probably was a B2B sale.
