Worth a thread on its own.....

They say the camera adds 10lbs... I don't think we'd notice.

He is just the tip of a particularly grotesque iceberg and prior to public sentiment shifting, no doubt was held up as the pinnacle of 'smart property investing' by the media and every rag going.

Even if his property empire implodes he's already done years of damage to his local area and no doubt a story replicated around the UK.

Population of Kent =1.5 Million

Average number of tenants / house = 2

Assuming an empire of 1000 houses at peak that means one person in 780 is a tenant of the Wilsons

Number of employees to run a restaurant = around 6 at any one time.

So if, as I surmise is rather likely, Fergus makes a habit of eating out at lots of different restaurants and diners, then roughly 1 time in 130 there will be someone on the staff who is a Tenant - or an "about to be a kicked-out" tenant.

Will fergus recognise the tenant? probably not

Will the tenant recognise Fergus? probably will

We can all guess what's going to happen, it just seems like a matter of time.

Around the world too I think, at least USA and Oz that I've heard of.

We should reserve some blame for the people who were responsible for the excessive growth of BTL and in Britain for the lack of any reasonable regulation.

Again it's a failure even to attempt to limit exploitation of one group by another.

I think Fungus has admitted that, he couldn't believe his luck.

A tricky question, who was/is the worst out of our last four Prime Ministers?

Yes, I seem to vaguely recall a video interview with him. Funnily enough, he didn't seem particularly humbled by the insight.

... and I honestly couldn't even begin to contemplate rating them (although I'd say May is the least-worst - ineffectual and irrelevant, rather than monstrous, but it's a low-bar...)

Brown took a reasonably balanced performing economy in 97, continue with the Cons policy til 2002ish, then blew the biggest credit bubble relative to the host economy that the world has ever seen.

Not quite. Although UK private sector debt/GDP peaked at an eye-watering 190% of GDP in 2010, Japan cleared 220% in the mid-90s.

Belgium, Canada, Australia and China are all currently ~ 200% (vs UK's 170%).

Such a great band - yet to have a revival among millennials, but their time will come.

In the era of rogue landlords like Wilson, HMO daddies and sheds in beds slum landlords, this song is as apt as when it was written.
