More Chinese are becoming millionaires -- and driving a fast-growing market for luxury goods
Now China is embracing them. More than 300,000 Chinese have a net worth over $1 million, excluding property, according to Merrill Lynch & Co. And mainland millionaires control some $530 billion in assets, Boston Consulting Group estimates. "
There has been a revolution in attitudes toward wealth
," says Rupert Hoogewerf, who authored the 1999 list. He now runs Hurun Report, a Shanghai-based company specializing in information about China's rich, which just released a survey on millionaires' buying habits. "People don't appreciate how much cash there is running around in China today," he says.
Diamond watches. Armani suits. Silver Bentleys. Private banks.
Getting rich in today's China is indeed glorious, and spending is even better
.

It was always said, put a socialist in a Rolls and you have a Tory. Lets us hope the Chinese do not start eyeing up property in the UK or maybe start renting out TTRTR's BTLs!

Next time you buy summat made in China think of this article.

Why does auto-censoring software work on the basis that we'll all be offended to see the word **** spelled out but it's OK to print it as ****?? Nothing to do with houseprices but it always annoys me. I think I've officially turned into a miserable old bugger (seems to let that one through then.)

Yup, they must be a bunch of right prudish *******, the lot of them, but I don't give a ****** anyway about those stupid ****s who write this stuff into the Invision software.

There again maybe you're just a miserable old ******er.
