Article On Hips And The Wonderfully Insightful Cml Quotes

Recommended Posts

"They are especially concerned that the new system will discourage all those 'speculative sellers' who currently advertise their homes with agents in order to test the market."

- well good, that is the whole point isn't it?

"They add that properties with very positive Home Condition Reports (the survey included in the HIP) will be fought over by buyers and this could lead to a rise in gazumping - the very thing the packs were designed to stop."

- HIPs were never designed to stop gazumping

- why on earth would HIPs ever have the effect of increasing gazumping?

This Government (if you can call it that) does everything in such a grey and ineffective manner. Take the smoking ban as an example: half-baked and ill-conceived.

Why don't they make these ****hole estate agents into a professional outfit? In America you sign on the dotted line just to make an offer. If it's accepted you buy the house unless you get a dodgy survey. So there is not guzumping. About 1 in 3 house sales fall through in this country because lame excuses.

This new system will be **** because once again they are not sorting out the whole shambolic industry. There are all sorts of insider deals going on between estate agents, solicitors and developers. It's a joke.
