Not long ago I did a few fag-packet calculations and it seems each sale earned him almost £3k towards his £45m bonus. I sorely wish Mr and Mrs average understood this cynical reality this when they're getting excited about the government 'helping them to buy'.

I would have thought it would be much more than 3k

watched a bit of Jeremy vine this morning at least the presenters picked up on the overpaid CEO of persimmon taking advantage of government subsidies and not any kind of talent involved.

pretty sure a a 18yo college leaver with an afternoon of sales tactics course could do the blokes job.

45m quid to build a few crap new builds propped up my tax payers money and siphoned off.

Tory all over that.

How can anyone vote Tory... they are 100% corrupt.. Anyone know how we get them put in prison?

Give it a couple of months and finger's crossed there will no longer be any sources left for VIs to reference as showing growing house prices; the only headlines left being the inevitable and unequivocal "house prices are falling"

That's what I just pointed out in the Australian thread.

Prices there are falling both nationally and on a big city basis. There is simply no other way left for the Australian media to spin it but to tell the truth " House prices are falling".

The reassuring thing is that when you read articles with such headlines in the Sydney Morning Herald the comments sections about between 70% and 90% cheering on the house price falls...…...

You seriously believe labour would be any different?!

at least you kind of expect that from a Tory govt - the country is getting what it voted for. What really gets to me is when labour get in and behave exactly the same way. Proper hypocrisy.

Just look at the expenses scandal. Little difference between the main parties when there's an opportunity to get some easy cash.

Maybe because Labour blew the biggest credit bubble the UK has ever seen, knighted Sir Fred, then, when it blew up, bailed out the finance sector with future generations of tax.

We will pay down the debt by, we won’t call a GE, we won’t re”orgaise“ the NHS, we will re-organise Social Services,...etc, etc.... one of many broken commitments now “ambitions”.

Nothing has changed. No if’s or buts, we will strangle our own Grandma to get your Vote.

No really 'hypocrisy' but resignation to the fact that the majority of human beings are self-serving and greedy and don't want socialism or even a social contract - they want a big house which goes up in value all the time (as will you when you buy one) and an Audi to make other people jealous of them, and to pay as little tax as possible.

So the Democrats in the USA and then New Labour in the UK embraced this 'aspiration' (ie greed) and we got what we got. Tories on both sides of the house.

wow.  So whom you think is not 100% corrupt?

Labout is 100% corrupt + added problem of hypocrisy. That makes then super corrupt and cannot be trusted at all.

Also, we've not heard labour condemning HTB, RTB, suppressed rates, QE or any of the other props and schemes. All most voters have is a choice between who they'd like to be screwed over by.

I had to laugh the other day when paying a tax on the government website. There was a button at the end to rate the service. Like paying tax is a service!

The Blairites are, that’s why they are all trying to get rid of Corbyn.. he is a loose cannon.. Someone who wants to go after bankers and stop private companies robbing the public purse..

if that’s what he actually does is a different story.. but we can’t continue with the Tories they are destroying the country just as much as Tony Blair did..

whats the alternative? UKIP?

I don't rule out the Tories anymore than I do any of the other political parties, the only reason I might vote Corbyn will be for the inevitable financial crash that follows along with the hopefully short term anarchy, then hopefully something better will come out of the ashes.

This.  They live to show that something is a "four bedroom house" or whatever, but they neglect to point out the 3 and 4th bedrooms would be considered closets in other countries.

Ha, definitely this. St Albans is full of "four bedroom" houses which are actually 2 bedroom terraces which have been mangled to within an inch of their lives with loft and garden extensions. The UK's housing stock is becoming increasingly cobbled together as people do their best to cope with housing which is not fit for purpose.

Without PR we stuck with the current crooks.  For some reason the current crooks don’t want to change.

But the Opposition crooks (Labour) didn't want to be in power. Never forget this fact: if Labour had not campaigned HARD against the AV referendum, then Labour easily could have won in 2015 and Ed Miliband would be Prime Minister now.

only prison ?

i always knew you were a nice guy.  i just hope more terminal illness is directed their way.  The only satisfaction i get is knowing every chunt dies in the end even those teflon barsturds.

The bigger picture is how you stop their same thinking spawn getting in the same seat as them.

If those are representative of the kind of people you know, then you need to establish new friendships. Honestly, none of my family or social circle are like that. We all prefer life experiences to hoarding money, making people jealous or accumulating paper wealth in the form of property. I'll grant you the tax one though ?

That's a very good way of putting it, in fact lots of people around the world do the very same thing, aborigines will burn large tracks of wooded land to rejuvenate it.

That old car that you keep patching up constantly, the house that should have been pulled down decades ago, Tudor houses for example at best should be at best just kept for historical references and not lived in, for starters they are the most environmentally unfriendly places you can get lived in usually by preachy people that make out they want the best for the planet.

Hard as it is sometimes, things must be allowed to fall down, collapse, fail and maybe even die at times, then hopefully something stronger, better, and more joyful will replace it.

My company has just done this to its structure after extensive navel gazing: it's thrown the cards in the air, hoping they will land in a better arrangement. Gradient-based optimization algorithms do the same when they get stuck at a local maximum; they randomize the start point to see if they can do better than before. Wanting a dose of Corbyn is not so stupid, really.

Voting for jezza does put the uk in a random state. Itll just put it somewhere between 1975 and Venezuela now.

Im all for burning MPs.

We are too nice with political failures.

Blair and Brown - and the banks - facing something similar to Romania 1989 would be more acceptable.
