The sums involved there are just mental.

36year mortgage @3.3% fixed for 2 years. They’d be screwed if anything happens to interest rates in the next 15 years

Pretty much my thoughts.

£1000 per month on socialising PLUS comprehensive Netflix, Amazon and spotify contracts, and £200 per month on household bills - in a flat.

Jesus fxing christ.

Fund ... 20k motorcycle accident payout.... did he smash his head?

I saw mortgage - 683/m and thought wtf.

Then i scrolled back up.

Mortgage: £214,500 (36 year loan on a 3.3% fixed for 2 years)

Government 5-year interest-free loan: £156,000

36 fking years...... hes 26 ffs. Assuming he makes it to the end hell be 62.

My partner, who is a teacher, also wants to do her PHD soon – so that will cost a few thousand too. So yes, it’s an expensive time! We’re sure that in the long-term, though, it will all pay off.

PhD is 5 years, just in time for paying off that free loan. Just as well shes very very clever. Youd not want a moron taking up this offer....

Nowhere in the article does it mention what his or his partners job is. I suppose these things aren't relevant nowadays when debt and properdee trumps getting off your a** and producing something.

They are piling into it with inheritance and BOMAD on top of their own savings, "I'll put it all on red please".

Partner is a teacher. Wants to give up for PhD as shes a genius.

Its very hard to look up John Smith ... however...

After 3 years of acting as a bicycle specialist due to personal interest through my adolescence

Thats the highpoint....

Doesn't look too shabby from 2016 onwards though. Maybe the career progression gave him ideas in a completely different batsh*t crazy station.

Really? I didn't know that. I'm self-employed and have not had a job for years. One of his past workplaces "Blue Bottle Biz" is one of my distribution channels lol. I saw thing like "Communications manager" and thought it must be good or something.

Dropped from head of online and marketing for only 4 months at Alain Charles Publishing to a mere vanilla management job at another company, looks a little suspect.

Alain Charles, well, Glassdoor.com reviews say it's a micromanaged employer that hire and fire readily.

Im suspect of any job lasting less than 18 months - unless you are a contractor.

Finished his MA in 2015.

Theres 7 different job titales in that 3 years. One is made up, 3 are 1.5 years at a company where he rapidly exits.

"Founded in 2015 by some university students in Sheffield, The Priori was an online magazine dedicated to given greater depth to news stories. It then moved into food, books and theatre reviews, before closing in December 2017."

that did well then
