Trump and all that sails with him

Recommended Posts

To stop the Brexit thread getting over run with Trump / mysoginy / sexist etc etc chat.

So to kick off - no I don't think he's a mysoginist. Bit sleazy ? Yes quite possibly.

Not really harmed a US president before though. Clinton's ratings shot up after his impeachment.

Maybe because it makes these people seem more "human" like the rest of us ?

He is.  He has the language of the misogynist, he has the actions of the misogynist.

I'd venture he was much worse than all of that as well, but those questions are yet to be asked.

So what?

Can he run a country (Y/N)?

How have our egalitarian, equality-obsessed lot done over the past 20 years?

He's not appearing to run the country very well, when it appears many people are thwarting his every move in the White House, as they think he's deranged.

I'd personally want someone with some dignity and respect to run a country.

But hey, we can't all be the same...

Your hearsay was a great response to my pics and video that speak for themselves. Well done.

Lowest unemployment for fifty years.

Well done Donald.

Depends. Like here there are very convenient ways of banding facts about unemployment

https://nypost.com/2018/01/08/dont-believe-the-lies-about-the-us-being-at-full-employment/

https://www.foreignpolicyjournal.com/2018/03/08/make-believe-america-why-the-us-unemployment-rate-doesnt-indicate-economic-recovery/

Everything is lies these days. The elites have us cornered and at each others' throats. You can participate and sing the songs of the great leaders - or quietly question everything that's told.

Well this was weird

From 1999

Just had to slip that into a mobile phone ad about a tech future, something from the dead tree press.

Lowest unemployment in the UK for 43 years.... it's hardly an indicator of a successful government, is it?

Barebacking a porn star a few months after the birth of his child (hearsay), coughing up >130k USD to get Daniels to sign an NDA and then lying about the whole affair (fact)..... You think that's comparable to May doing the Maybot do you?

Even if Trump does manage to have a successful 4 or 8 years, it still diminishes the US.

There is absolutely nothing I can say to that in response which will satisfy either of us.

Trump Engaged in Suspect Tax Schemes as He Reaped Riches From His Father

https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2018/10/02/us/politics/donald-trump-tax-schemes-fred-trump.html

A good but very long NYT article on Trump - what it fails to explain is why the IRS turned a blind eye to all the blatant tax fraud. It is hard not to conclude he had some kind of insider assistance - perhaps thats where the Russian links come in?

You would think that anyone as rich as Trump would have no reason to get involved with the Russians.

Well, not if you think the consensus is that Trump has increased the regard the US has on a global stage, no.

So...we're just telling straight-up lies now?

OK, I'll reply later, I'm just off for an evening cruise on my mega-yacht, but thanks for your reply I really value your thoughts.

Go to the BBC, any time, any day, and look at the side bar (No Daily Mail style titillation here, just drivel like this.  First click at random, took my 7 seconds to load the page, click and copy the URL)

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-45810709

But, there's no equality obsession among those in charge...with their own state propaganda broadcasting system.

Maybe there has been a misunderstanding. I'll try to clarify what I thought was being discussed.

This thread is about Trump. You comment:

I thought it was obvious that by "egalitarian, equality-obsessed lot" you meant our governments over the past 20 years. Can anyone make a case that either New Labour, the coalition or the Conservative party are egalitarian?

Which equality is important? I find the article you linked above odd and I think that's fairly peripheral. Something which is fairly pervasive is so-called gender equality. But it's actually nothing of the sort. For example, the nonsense about gender differentials at the BBC and in various other employers is largely focused on high earners. Insofar as people are pushing for this kind of "equality" they just want more women at the top in an economic system which is just as unequal. I don't dignify this kind of nonsense as "equality." I think pretending to care about these things is a way of distracting people from actually being concerned with equality between rich and poor. If people care about that kind of inequality, then it's hard to justify the position of the rich. But if they say the problem is just that not enough women and racial minorities are rich, or there is not enough social mobility, then they can ignore those who are poor.

So, if we actually think the BBC has a clearly thought out objective, it seems to be to distract millions of people on below average incomes to care that some women who earn £500k per year ought to earn £700k per year.

Other people talk at length on this forum about how the BBC has a HPI agenda. Some people think the pro-immigration position of some in government and the media are to push house prices higher. I think this fits in with an anti-egalitarian outlook. But I don't think all of these positions are related. For one thing, it may be different BBC staff who are pro-HPI, pro-immigrant, pro-faux-equality or equal opportunity. But I think it's also quite telling that these positions usually rest on faulty assumptions: e.g. that HPI is good, or that if there are differences in earnings between groups, it must be caused by discrimination. A lot of the crap from the BBC could be explained by them being morons.

Trump,

1 Saudi, Isis sorted,

2 North Korea sorted,

3 Nato strengthened.

4 Economy improving,

5 Unemployment down.

Lefties absolutely HATE President Trump because he is not a politician, he is a World class businessman and is showing politicians up for what a useless bunch of gob shites that they really are.

The Democrat Party have utterly failed to see how each week President Trump feeds them yet another so called 'outrage' which gets them spitting feathers.

Only two years to go to the next Presidential election, yet President Trump has fooled the Democrats into wasting their energy shouting at the sky.

A logical, thinking, party would, immediately after they lost the last election, buckled down to preparing for the next, but the ridiculously over emotional left just  waste time whinging about things which they can do nothing about.

This is of course par for the course,

Left wingers prefer emotions to logic, they don't like thinking.
