The adverts on this site

But seemingly in a really crap way.  I read a thread on here recently about how much of a pain it would be to own that Harry Potter House because a million Japanese tourists would be on your doorstep and then ever since I've had ads on this site for "Visit Japan".

Someone's algorithm is a bit too simple.  It presumably only went as far as "Japanese" and "Tourist"

They're based on your browsing history. So what have you been up to? Looking for a new wifey Comrade?

Hell no, one is enough thank you, (not Russian mind)

Spent some time online looking to buy a new car battery recently. My Gmail account than got bombarded with ads for free range eggs.

That would be ads sponsored by animal rights activists.

Is someone taking the piss? It's usually btl lenders or landlord insurance, today its manage your retirement fund and get a Ukrainian bride.

How much for a bride? 🙂

I would sooner be reading HPC adds than the dross that is now being pushed out on the Brexit thread on a 24/7 basis by the same guys/trolls on an hourly basis

Yeah. What the earlier poster - they reflect your browsing history....

Actually ... not 100%. I think they trigger off some key words inthe your web cache.

AdBlock for Chrome. Had to do it, as this site was getting too bad with those stupid pop out videos. Sorry to who ever has lost the revenue, but you over did it. Its a much nicer experience now. Only issue I have found is some local news papers wont let me see their click bait any more. Boo hoo.

The website gets google ads based on your browsing preferences, can't fault you on Ukranian brides, I heard they are stunning.

Jokes aside, this website needs adds to make it profitable by the owners. From what I heard, this site got bought by a company specialising in owning high traffic forums. We must be in the top 3000.

I came here well after 08, as I was left in the wilderness wandering how can everyone be so stupid and think houses will continue going up? A few searches later I found HPC, my new home. :D

This forum goes back to 2004 or so when bubble 1.0 was getting traction.

There was a time about a year ago where the site owners punned a lot of content, like a legendary long and old thread in the off forum section. A decision that I didn't like but understood as the subject was not housing related and google send out mass threats to platforms that h8 speech would get you demonetised. Again, i don t like some ads, and the c3nsorship that wen by it, but I understand they have a bottom line and thats what keeps this place ticking.

I have noted there is a lot less engagement than there used to be.
