Another Sex for rent sting

Recommended Posts

Is this the same sting...?  This is the BBC Inside Out West.

I think this supports the case that control of housing in the UK is about power...everyone needs shelter and if you control it you are in a position of power...if you wield that power either you extract the earnings of the productive in rent or future earnings as a high purchase price or you demand sex from them.

Power.

Given the nature of the rest of the industry, it was a predictable escalation really. It's still not very common in the UK to house your mistress, estate agents and footballer / property developers can foster the culture.

This is so sexist and disgusting. Why should attractive young women be the only ones to be able to use sex to get free shelter?

Men and munters should be given housing benefit equivalent to one shag per week to help reduce their rent bill. It's only fair.

What makes you think the women who received this offer were attractive and young? I would think attractive young women would probably have better offers. They could probably find consensual sex from people they liked and were able to provide shelter. And if not, they could do escorting, stripping, etc. and probably get a lot more money. Therefore I expect the landlords would try to set their sights lower.

Oh Gordon Brown you stupid *****.

Allowing the UK's young to be pimped twice.

First to the LL. Then to the LL's banks, bailing both bank and LL out with ZIRP.

Yes. All these terrible things happening after all these years of useless Tory austerity ideology.

But why blame Gordon Brown? I blame Robert Walpole.

As the other Daily Mail cretins say, 'Simples!'.

Send in a Ladyboy/ Dude with Boobs. Get a sex agreement for free rent, and the see what happens on a first night when the landlord realises he may have made a mistake.

Or a female dominator with whips and chains, full male BDSM

This one doesn't fit with all the other examples and is alarming:

-'Another reported having a landlord 'showing up nightly, sitting in my bedroom and refusing to leave'.

This type of thing was covered on women's hour a while ago - there was a thread on here.

I think Wayward is right - like other sexual exploitation - it's about power.   I wonder if these men are similarly creepy in other parts of their lives?

Sex for rent is a form of modern day slavery – so why aren’t we prosecuting abusive landlords?

I think it's the intrinsic character of many landlords.

I think it's the intrinsic character of many landlords. They want power over people. It gives them energy.

reminds me of when I was renting a house in a welsh mining village a few years back, I lost my job and couldn't pay the rent so the DEBTjunkie scumbag (some withered old doctor bint who called herself an academic portfolio something or other) basically offered to let me off each months rent if I were to "service her needs" in return once a month.

Anyway long story short I weighed up all my options, robbed a bank, bought the house off her for cash and burnt it down immediately then moved out of the area.

Bad memories, man.
