Agree with comment that it’s a nice house. Some of the Yorkshire towns like Batley, Bradford etc which are struggling and have cheap housing have some of the prettiest houses around. (for balance they also have the worst 😆

Town centre of Batley is full of empty shops but beautiful old buildings...such a shame.

Looking at that map I think it is a bit "apocalyptic". I have been to several areas that are coloured red and I can state that to the best of my knowledge there is no problem with flooding.

Southsea common and many of the coastal areas around there are not below sea level.

Ironically the one area where all coastal defences were abandoned 20 odd years ago...Selsey...appears to be above water level.

I remember moving to Lincolnshire at the turn of the millennium and speaking to an old acquaintance about it on the phone...he warned me that most of it was due to be under water "in 20 years". Well, to the best of my knowledge...its still there.

23% off of a 2 bed cottage Accrinton Lancs.

Although this is technically above my 20% limit I think the fluctuations are due to the addition and removal of a garage.

Anyhow due to the frequency of changes, its worth a watch over the next few weeks/months.

Yes - I agree the situation is not as bad now - but I think the map purports to show what the situation might be by 2050 - i.e. below annual flood level.

If we are talking about the same Southsea Common (50.78399N , 1.094735W), then Google Earth reports its height above sea level as 4 feet.  Similarly, Boston, Lincs is shown as having an elevation of 24 feet.  I think the map is saying that with a bit of sea level rise and an occasional storm, these places could be in big trouble. Certainly, I would not wish to buy anywhere that is in the red zone - though in many places, it would be nice to live for few years. Mid you, I'll likely be dead by 2050 - so maybe I shouldn't worry too much :)

https://www.thetelegraphandargus.co.uk/news/18805260.plan-turn-cornwall-house-near-valley-parade-bedsits-48-people-submitted/

The average size for the bedsits in this development would be 11.5 square metres, and although each room has en suite bathroom facilities, future residents will have to share a kitchen with six other people.

Found it on houseprices.io

29/03/2018 £205,000 9 Moorfields, Bramley, Leeds, LS13 3JZ

Just to add, I used google maps for a walk around, and saw there was a bin with the house number outside.

It's right by an A road and surrounded by on road car parking. Worth a look to see how crazy the price is.
