It's bizarre, when you listen to the MSM and the bankers it's like the market has never been so hot. I see a lot of crap up for sale at silly money and I see not a lot coming to the market, most of the stuff that went SSTC 12 months ago still sat with the SOLD sign up. I can only imagine they are trying to create panic buying like they managed in London in 2014...remember the tales pe people queuing to pay fortunes for crappy flats. I witnessed it myself. I now have another 26 properties to post...all 20%+ drops in asking price. There were approx 10 Retirement properties that I didnt include...I might go back and re-visit those in the future. Also there were some very low asking prices there...5k etc. Make of this what you will. I will post these later but for now...I must get a life! market is toast, the higher mortgage rates/less deals/BTL exit means it makes no sense that prices are rising. That leaves this faux boom down to idiots leaving london and taking on more debt and accessing those lower 60% LTV deals. To anyone down here in the SE with half decent income and savings it would just be a matter of "When can you start? When will it be finished? Don't call me to discuss costs unless it runs more than £5k over budget." It tragic that many folks up North can't easily get together a modest amount of savings and perhaps a small loan to fix these places up and enjoy the simple pleasure of living in a safe, warm and dry home, celebrating special occasions etc. My Dad was able to provide that in the 60s and 70s in council house in the West. I am seeing some vicious drops at the lower end especially where a property cant be bought with borrowed money. As you can all see the price range is up to approx 100k. After that the 20% plus drops tend to reduce in number but there are plenty in the 10 - 20% range (some in the 15 - 20% range had me sucking the air through my teeth testing my 20% resolve). There are still price increases but not many. Anyhow, another 1 hour search and another 13 properties at 20%+ drops.
