Abbey Offers Baby £20k Loan

BANKING giant Abbey has apologised for sending a letter addressed to a one-year-old girl inviting her to take out a £20,000 loan.
With Britain's credit mountain totalling more than £1trillion and personal bankruptcy hitting record levels, lenders have been accused of irresponsibly allowing people to build up huge debts without checking their income.
The letter is the latest in a series of cases which contradicts lenders' claims they take information from respected credit agencies and check it carefully.

INSANITY?

It's a free market. If Abbey want to sell 20k loans to babies that's their right. Would you rather live under communism????

No one's forcing it. If the tot is stupid enough to daub their signature in Cow and Gate stewed plums on the application form, it's her own fault. Infants need to learn responsibility. It's a competitive global economy.

Babies expect to be spoon-fed these days. I blame the government nanny state marxists with degrees in media studies.
