A Question Of Government

Recommended Posts

One of the primary functions of any Govt is to STAY in Govt.

Therefore what of the next election?

Could it be 'brought forward' by NuLAB to try and buy in another 5 years of Govt?

i.e. we get up to two more years of lowish interest rates from the BOE in an attempt to stave off the worst effects of recession followed by a desperate gamble on an early election by NuLAB.

Tony steps down and in pops Gordon.

...followed by higher inflation/IRs, higher taxes and recession.

in other words, they will do what ever they can to paper over the cracks in the economy until the next election to get another 5 years in office.

I just don't see a HPC as an election winner...

I think they`ll have to be quicker than that!
