Some explanation would be nice

No no no! This is our tradition. We are never quite sure for whom, for what or why we are voting. We vote and then we argue.

I thought I had the answer, but it did not turn out as well as I had hoped.

The reign of King Cameron had been going well - Keeping things stable, keeping things working, skimming off the top and don't frighten the horses. The peasents grumbled of course, but were generally happy with their lot and paid their taxes.

Then Farage rowed up the river in his longship...

The constant raids started to make people jumpy and they demanded protection from these cruel europeans. Farage would lean against the door of a tavern in a plundered town and promise that if he was only to be King, he could stop the boats in a heartbeat.

The King tried to buy Farage off with promises of power at court and great honours. But nothing was enough for the heathen and so eventually the King announced a great Poll: If the people wished, all boats would be banned. The people spoke and the boats were banned by Kingly decree.

But of course, the boats did not stop. Still they came, up the rivers and over the shores, plundering, burning and looting.

Then the great Alexander, seeing the plight of the country, took up arms and joined Farage and together they swept accross the realm in a furious tide, turning brother against brother and mother against son. Sore did the saintly queen Thereasor seek to heal the rifts and placate her subjects, but they were not for turning.

It was a time of madness and in such times, the mad prosper. Thus came Truss the insane who called for all first born to be offered to the invadors as slaves
