Agent vs seller expectations reversal

Recommended Posts

Had a chat with someone selling their place the other day and what was curious was the agent (second they had used so far) was insistent that asking price remained remain high and was sure some buyer would pay it.  The owner isnt convinced this price is realistic (ie too high) by virtue of the the viewings drying up and the lack of offers.

It was curious to me its the agent is holding out for a high price despite the owner realising no first timers can afford today's prices - I would have expected the opposite.

Yes the agent had the ideal chance to present the vendor with a "realistic" market view and achieve very slightly less sales commission. Maybe has a btl on the same street.
