TheCountOfNowhere
I could go on. Odd behavior from people who'd just had a buyer and who know their product was sell-able at that price....unless... I only saw 1 fallen through sale that didnt drop their price. 18 months ago when a sale fell through they all raise their prices. The market is clearly falling. How far and how fast is open to conjecture. 200K for a 70K how in far cotton though says to me...its going down a long way.

ebull
Could be the SSTC was at the lower price so when the original [NOT-A-] "buyer" bails they put it back to available without changing price first to see if someone will bite and drop later. Otherwise maybe sellers understand that a SSTC that doesn't go to exchange DOES NOT MEAN that it's either sellable or worth that price. Almost makes you wonder if a bunch of VIs would see an advantage in putting offers in for everything at -10% and doing nothing but letting it fall through after a month. Lets call it lubricating market falls.
ftb_fml
Promising, although all those price drops are pretty limp if they're really trying to get the stuff shifted.. hopefully though it'll just mean rising inventory and massive cuts further down the line as the market continues to tank! You would think they were selling some aristocratic pile like Chatsworth House not some poxy Victorian terrace in Balham. Clearly no one there knows how to use a lawnmower. When all is said and done it is just the sort of terraced house that the Pooters of this world lived in over a century ago not the residence of the bloody Duchess of Devonshire. Indeed, the main character of the Diary of A Nobody actually lived in a 6 bedroom house in Holloway on a clerk's wages. Much of the space in these properties is made up of ex servants quarters and basement sculleries https://www.spectator.co.uk/2008/10/finding-pooters-house/ The fact you think it is so big just shows you how indoctrinated people in the UK have become to tiny houses in recent decades. In reality it is not much bigger than the average American home The price expectations here are well within the realms of Mr Pooters own delusions of grandeur. Anyway both the house and the garden are clearly far too much for the sellers otherwise they might have tidied them up a bit Edited July 13, 2017 by stormymonday_2011

What I meant was that it's not 'poxy' by general suburban-London terrace standards. There are masses that are a lot smaller. And yes, I do know that American houses are generally bigger than ours, thank you. But we were not talking about America.
