Are Greenwich Council wasting millions in Right to Buy housing income?

Recommended Posts

"So with time running out on spending some Right to Buy income before it has to be returned to central Government, Greenwich have just announced where they will spend, and it’s mainly in the least cost effective area – buying homes at market value (at the top of a housing bubble no less). This of course also does nothing to expand the total housing stock. Every home bought is one less available to others looking to buy or rent."

I know the area. it doesn't surprise me with that Labour council. A fair few are buy to let landlords I believe. Much of the area is a shithole (much of Woolwich is a complete shocker especially the backstreets). Painful to think how much they are blowing buying houses around there to prop up prices
