Seriously though presumably current AI can't beat these tests I'm sick of being unable to log in to sites I usually buy on. So my rule now is: if you don't let me log in easily, I'm going to stop buying from you. I tell them why I've stopped, too. ? Ill let let you know when I run out of sites to buy in!!? dgul
In the future our robot overlords will employ humans to do the 'I'm not a robot' checks for them.

Sledgehead
am pretty sure that captchas are computer generated. This would explain why humans with colour-blindness, sight probs find them difficult to interpret. It would also suggest bots could easily be taught / computer learn how to circumvent them

longgone
having filled up at asda`s petrol station tonight i noticed it is completely unmanned now, no office or nothing just a row of pumps that have to pre approve payment before it will let you fill up. Mikhail Liebenstein
There are 2 sides to these tests. 1) Verify you are human. 2) Build massive data sets with qualified metadata (checked for free by humans) so that they can be input into AI training sets. Seriously, some of the image tests you don't actually have to get right to pass, they are just looking for the human input.
