Don't get me wrong, slowing growth is certainly better than rampant inflation - I'm just getting narked by all the mixed signals and wish it's just bloody well get on with it!

I think I / we have been spoilt over the earlier part of past month with the changing political climate, swinging market sentiment, hopeful anecdotals and encouraging figures from the Halifax / Nationwide / LR / to a smaller extent Hometrack (especially the Oxford figures last month). Now there seems to have been a bit of an up-tick in prices and sales (latest LR figures nationally and HT figures locally for me).

Perhaps the only thing worse than having no hope is allowing yourself to have some then having it dashed just as you'd dared to dream that change might actually be happening..

I'll be sticking around, thanks - I've got nowhere better to be :P

Thanks :)

Also, the title should have read that annual inflation is down to 4.7% in May from 5.3% in April and 6.4% in March. I was getting confused with the figures from some of the building societies.. it's going in the right direction, just not fast enough for my liking :P
