Now, what sort of system is based on ever growing numbers ?

What these people dont seem to realise is, not stopping the immigration will crash the economy as the middle classes run out of money and the poor take to the streets to "protect" thenselves against the threat of becoming a minority in what should be theitr own country.

The evil ****s allowing the immigration for their own profit are the real problem.

I am struck by how many supposedly responsible people in positions of authority are prepared to go on the record saying that they want the UK to be a parasitical economy draining doctors and nurses and other energetic folk from poor and troubled countries that can least afford to lose them.  They seem to take pride in stating that this is their position.  Its shameful, unsustainable and as the Count says evil.

also when looking at the economy in turns of immigration analysis talk in terms of total GDP...well yes it is clear the total size of the economy will grow if population increases but what about GDP PER HEAD that is a different story but rarely reported and isn't that what counts??.  and what about distortions in the economy and how this impacts on different groups - no surprise the wealthy benefit most from immigration and the poor lose both in terms of wages and price of shelter.

Will crash the economy... it's based on a slave in debt not in chains... an exodus of 4 million EU citizens, plus British citizens who follow were the work is will move into Europe. The UK will shrink and become a tax haven... for the US wealthy. As for house prices.... well thats just a supply and demand issue... demand is present if the supply is affordable... The country has an adequate supply of homes.....

The bottom line is making sure that the big companies have super-cheap labour.  It's pretty obvious that they have been calling the shots with respect to immigration policy over the last few decades, irrespective of which party was elected.  Hence, 'open' borders and easy access to welfare and healthcare for allcomers.  After all, when the corporates don't need them it's a taxpayer problem.

Nothing wrong with a targeted immigration policy of letting people who have a high value skillset that is in demand come in - that's what sensible sovereign countries do.

That's true but there's more to it:  supporting property prices, particularly in London and the south-east.  There's 20-odd billion of housing benefit being paid to landlords' mortgages.

The on-paper value of the property inventory allows us to borrow, and keep the illusion of a prosperous economy going.  Beats working for a living.

People say this, but I'm not convinced that mass high-skill immigration isn't as much of a problem as mass low-skilled immigration. 

For an example of high-skill immigration look at football. Has the premier league recruiting abroad helped British kids become footballers?  Has the England team benefitted?

Foreign footballers exist throughout the football pyramid but they get less the further down you go. To my knowledge Dulwich hamlet has international footballers from smaller nations and they play in 7(?) level of the  pyramid .  Has it made British footballers better ? The jury is out but for sure our club structure and fascilities has made the imported footballer better. Btw Scottish football is on it's **** and it's  demise coincides with the formation of the english premier league . Gifted  Scottish players were once sort after by English clubs , Law, Souness, Gilzean, Gemmill , Strachan, Daglish to name but a few. Africa is now where most of the talent is recruited.

Immigration was fairly stable up until Blair and Nu Labour. Then it fecking exploded.

It was a toxic combination of big business (represented by the CBI) wanting cheap pools of labour and left-wing multicult diversity politics. Odd bedfellows, but a toxic combination.

People farming. I think we are now seeing their golden cask empty of coinage. After all, the consumer (farm animal) only yields if they have some fat. Greed works both ways and eventually will kill its wearer.
