What Is Mortgage Equity Withdrawal?

Recommended Posts

I am not going to lead as to what I think, just intrigued to see what others do..

I guess it will be slanted on here..

But if we didn't understand such things we would all have massive interest only mortgages that we can hardly afford against a rubbish new flat.. Whilst waiting of this wage inflation thing that should be happening any time soon.. shouldn't it?

It depends how old you are. If you're retired and you MEW to get enough income to pay the interest plus some more on top that you can use for living expenses, then it's releasing the profit in your home. If you expect to have to pay it back some day, it's secured debt.

cool..

and no matter which way you think the market is going.

Which I do accept is opinion.. (I am right lol...) :)

But how can so many not understand this simple fact..

It can't even be argued.

Debt secured at a very low IR compared to a loan..

Perhaps..

But thats all it ever can be..

Unless you are retiring and they can have the place when you shuffle of..

Which does undermine your

"wait until your parents die then inherit their house" argument a little zorn..

not that needed that much underminding..

If that wasn't you who said that one I appologise and shoot me down..
