Party city grows up: how Berlin's clubbers built their own urban village

Recommended Posts

It's not an entirely new concept as the article suggests.

Munich had a similar place which fairly recently closed down:

Zürich has a similar 'collective' called something like rotfabrik

It's interesting that people who have never done a days work in a factory, want to call their 'collectives' factories (fabrik is German for factory)

If it is the area of Berlin I am thinking of it is quite a bizarre area, a waste land but within walking distance of the new massive main train station and even the parliament isn't that far away.

(Edit: it's not where I thought it was, but in another on another empty bit of land to the east of the city)
