3ft wide house £800k.... in London

Recommended Posts

That's a tight squeeze! £800,000 house round the corner from Harrods which is wider than most mansions but just THREE FEET deep is up for sale

Knightsbridge house is THREE FEET deep sell for £800,000

The property, 1b Ennismore Gardens Mews (left), in Kensington, London, has a 65ft frontage but is only 2.5 ft deep at one end (right). It is expected to sell for more than £800,000 at auction due to its vicinity near Royal Albert Hall, Harrods and Hyde Park. The unusual house was owned by Linda Wildoner (inset with Sir Martyn Poliakoff) for around 60 years. She died seven years ago and the house has been unoccupied ever since.

A dream house.....

Can't believe someone actually lived there. Why is it allowed to be called a house? Isn't it just a hallway?

Looks more like a Victorian gents toilet with attendants room at the end, anyone got an old Victorian O.S. Map of the area.

I can't see that being of any use as a modern day house. Worth £800k my bottom. FFS knock it down and turn it into car parking spaces.

"...there is a the possibility, subject to planning permission, a first floor could be added to part of the mews - increasing the size and practicality..."

Maybe at the very end. For almost all of it you'd be building in front of someone else's window, which I doubt is allowed.

Honestly I think it looks like it has some vague potential given the area it's in, though almost certainly as a pied a terre of some kind.
